This unique looking plant is actually a succulent native to West Africa but also found in tropical Asia and India. This very distinctive plant has spines along its stems and small leaves that cover the edges of the stems and stalk. The plant is also known as an African Milk Tree which is given due to the milky white sap that comes out when it is cut or broken.

Care instructions:

Light: Prefers bright lighting conditions. Direct sunlight is OK but take care to ensure this does not scorch the plant.

Watering: The African Milk Tree is drought tolerant for short periods. Allow the soil to dry out before watering to ensure the plant is not overwater.

Temperature: Prefers reasonably warm temperatures, ideally from 15-27°C. Avoid lower temperatures and cold draughts.

Humidity: Normal home humidity but prefers drier air. Avoid steamier rooms like the bathroom and shower.

Toxic: Yes keep away from babies/pets as the milky sap or latex of Euphorbia plant is highly toxic and an irritant to the skin and eye. Wash off immediately if in contact with skin.
